Tree Tenders Volunteer Training

There will be two spring 2009 courses offered:

Eleven hours of arboriculture training offered over three sessions. A combination of indoor and outdoor instruction

Location and Dates to be announced

This 11 hour training program is designed for individuals who want to
gain tree-related knowledge and skills. If you have had some experience
at tree planting or gardening, but want more in-depth training, this
series is for you!

Topics to be covered include (see agenda attachment below):

Tree biology and how trees function
Tree and shrub identification
The roles of soil and climate
Tree planting and establishment
Care and maintenance
Identifying and managing tree stresses
Recognizing health or disease issues

Resources and handouts will be provided. Resource manuals will be
available at cost but are not mandatory.

Space is limited. Participants must be at least 18 years of age.
