Schools
LEAF provides trees, shrubs and perennials to schools for naturalization projects with the City of Toronto only. The species offered and their prices are the same as those for the Backyard Tree Planting Program. Trees and shrubs are normally delivered to schools by LEAF, but planted by students and teachers/parents. We can provide instructions on proper planting and care. Delivery and planting take place in spring (April/May) and fall (October/November).
The Toronto District School Board, in partnership with Evergreen, offers on-site technical advice and educational workshops and resources to help ensure that greening projects are successful. Schools that are part of the Toronto District School Board, should visit the Eco-Schools section of the TDSB website and complete a School Ground Greening Approval Form. Qualified Board staff will visit your school and help you plan your planting site. Once your plans and approvals are in place, you can contact LEAF to order trees, shrubs and perennials for delivery.
If your school is not part of the Toronto Disctrict School Board, LEAF will conduct a site consultation for you. Please read through and follow the four steps below.
